Honolulu, Hawai’i – In a massive display of unity towards Independent nationhood, Native Hawaiians, and supporters from throughout Hawai’i and beyond, will march through downtown Honolulu to ‘Iolani Palace tomorrow morning.
The march, sponsored by the Living Nation, a Native Hawaiian unity organization, will start at Fort St. Mall and Queen St. and proceed to ‘Iolani Palace at 8:30 AM.
“Unity is the key to our cause,” declared Mel Kalahiki, Living Nation event organizer. “Tomorrow morning all of Hawai’i, the United States and the world will see that we are one as we move forward, walking in the footsteps of our ancestors.”
Events will continue all day long on Palace grounds with multiple ceremonies, music concerts and culminating in a sunset torchlight procession.
All events are free to the public and everyone, Hawaiian or not, is encouraged to attend.
“We’re here for real change, not just spare change,” remarked Lynette Cruz, Living Nation event co-chair. “We call on everyone to come down tomorrow morning and show their support by marching with us. When Native Hawaiians win, everyone wins.”
Living Nation events began last Monday, January 13 and have continued all week.
Highlights have included a massive rally at the State Capitol on Wednesday and a non-stop 110-hour Vigil across the street from Palace grounds.
